Mrs. Melissa "Beamie" Hudgins, 79, daughter of the late Mr. Powell Scott a nd Mrs. Louise Gaddie Scott, was born March 9, 1895, in Taylor County a nd departed this life at 8:10 p.m. Monday, July 29, 1974, at the Methodi st Hospital in Louisville. She had made a profession of faith in Christ a nd was a member of the Taylor Chapel Methodist Church at the time of her d eath. She united in marriage to Mr. Sollie Hudgins, May 5, 1918, and he pr eceded her in death May 4, 1963. To this union were born one son and one d aughter: Linzy Hudgins and Mrs. Elam Creason, both of Louisville. Also sur viving are two sisters: Mrs. Henrietta Shaw, Summersville, and Mrs. Ella H udgins, Magnolia; one brother: Alvin Scott, Summersville; one granddaughte r: Mrs. Lowayne Hodge, Louisville; three great-grandchildren: Dana Lynn, J ames Patrick, and Stacy Marie Hodge, all of Louisville. The remains we re at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were condu cted at 10 a.m. (CDT) Thursday, August 1, with burial in the Aetna Grove C emetery. Revs. Otis Skaggs and Ferreill Gardner officiated. Pallbearers: C hess Hall, David Marcum, Carl Shaw, Owen Hodge, Kenneth Murphay, and Ray W right.

Mr. Alvin Scott, son of the late Mr. Powell Scott and Mrs. Louisa Gaddie S cott was born 30 Oct 1904 in Taylor County, Kentucky,
and departed this life at 8 pm Thurs. 22 Mar 1984 at the Green Hill Man or in Greensburg, Kentucky. He was 79 years, 4 months
and 22 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and w as a member of the Aetna Grove Church at the time of his
death. He united in marriage to Miss Flossie Vaughn who preceded him in de ath in 1928. He later wed Miss Maude Bradshaw in
1945 who survives. Mr. Scott is also survived by several nieces and nephe ws and host of other relatives and friends. The remains
were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were c onducted at 1 pm Sat. 25 Mar 1984 with burial in the
Aetna Grove Cem. Rev. Otis Clell Skaggs and Randy Smith officiated. Pallbe arers were Dowen Quisenberry, Chess Hall, Hubert
Wright, Willard Best Wilburn Bennett, and Kenneth Hall.
