Samuel Boren has been called as president of the Lima Peru Temple. His wife, Clara, will serve as temple matron. President Boren has previously served as president of the Mexico Veracruz, Italy Milan, and Italy Catania missions. Sister Boren is a former member of the Relief Society General Board. Both are natives of Argentina.

Clara Angela Boren, 79, a member of the Relief Society general board from 1972-1977, died July 4, 1999, in Spokane, Wash. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Feb. 8, 1920, to Alessandro and Clara Lorenzi, and joined the Church in 1941. She accompanied her husband, Samuel Boren, as he presided over three missions: Southeast Mexico, 1969-1972; Italy Milan, 1979-82; and Italy Catania (interim), 1982-83. She was matron of the Lima Peru Temple from 1985-87 when her husband served as temple president. She is survived by
her husband, a member of the Spokane 9th Ward, Spokane Washington North Stake, and two sons and two daughters.
