Yeowly Halloween to You/// Welcome to my Web Page,

I am Dr. PepperSauce, an absolutely Wonderful Black Persian Cat. I am soooo clever! I have big yellow eyes and can sit silently and follow your every move. I can make things feel spooky just by being! I learned to use the computer. Late at night after everyone is sound asleep, you will hear the erie sound of soft kitty feet at the computer as I write my web page. It helps me to get the magic animal message out that most all animals are really brilliant and have lots of knowledge we can teach the humans who are our friends.

I help the Pet Counselor (my Mommy) do her Web Pages too. I sit at the computer and point to places I think need attention. I paw the screen when I see a mistake. Mommy Kay enjoys my comments when she is writing her Pet Counselor Advice Column. She asked me if I was interested in having my own Advice Column. She speaks Cat and several other languages you know. So I said (with a twinkle in my eye) "I think it is a meowvulus idea." Boy was she surprised when I showed her my already "Up and Running" Web Site!

Yes! I am black with golden eyes and meowveoulous white whiskers! I'm male, a feline with long fluffy hair. I'm a shiney-eyed Taurus. That oughtta give you a pretty clear picture of who I am! Now, cuddle down in a soft cushion and pay attention, here we go!

?? Ask Dr. PepperSauce - The Counselor Cat ??

Dear PepperSauce,
I am scared of Halloween. I know it's supposed to be fun but it just isn't for me! I see those monsters and right away I want to protect my family and Yikes!!! Sometimes the monsters are my family.

This is serious. Last year I bit Dad on his mask (He was being a Green Spaceman). I ruined his costume by ripping it. I started to bite Susie, but she screamed and I realized it was her. I spent the whole Halloween night tugging on my leash inside the house and barking. The next day everyone was mad at me. And my throut was sore from barking so much. Hallwoeen is RRUUFFFFF! RRUUFFFF! RRRUUUFFFFFF!!!
What can I do so I don't make a mistake this year?
RUFF the Dog!

PepperSauce Says: Dear RUFF,
Yep, you are right! Halloween is RRUUFFF on most animals, but as I look into my Majik Crystal Ball I see You rather enjoyed biting the Dad on the nose. Come-on fess up, you knew it was the Dad, you have been waiting a long time for that opportunity! But you are right about getting all riled up. Have your humans check out The Pet Counselor's Pet Tips this month. Just go back to the main page and click on Pet Tips. My Mommy, The Pet Counselor, prepares us for Halloween using the Pet tips method, because she and Steve have a huge Halloween Party and we are invited but we must be well behaved and they like us to enjoy the party too.

Part of this behavior is normal and natural and part of it is because you can get away with bad behavior. I'll bet you chase cats too, don't you? My dogs don't! We are friends. But it took time and patience, lots of training and work to get us to play together safely.

Work at learning that this is fun for humans. Believe me, it won't go away and if you want the comfortable life humans give us, we must learn to comply to their holidays and rules.

If you get a chance to show that you can behave, DO! Quit barking at the monsters. You know they are cute kids for the most part if you really think. I know its hard for dogs to do that - but try!

I see in my Cat Crystal Ball that there is another question coming in for me. Good Luck behaving at Halloween!
Don't blow it Bark Brain!
Be glad you have a Meowvelous Family who loves you. PepperSauce///

Dear PepperSauce,
I am a black cat. Last year at halloween kids chased me and tried to grab me. They were screaming that I was Bad Luck! I'm scared they will chase me again this year. I got lost last year and couldn't find my way home. My family found me hiding under a bush several blocks from home. I was crying. How can I be safe this year?
Midnight

Dear Midnight,
Most kids are loving and nice but every now and then you get a bad one. They are usually insecure and hurting inside so they act out badly on the outside. Ask your family to let you stay inside on Halloween. You will be safe inside. If they won't let you in, BEG!!! If you find yourself outside on Spooky Nite, keep quiet, stay hidden and if someone tries to get you, jump into the back yard of your own home or dive for the open door and hide under a bed.

Black cats are not safe outside on Halloween! And by the way - Did you know that Black Cats are treasured in England as they know we bring Good Luck to those who treat us with respect!

Hope you get to be inside! It's a PURRRRFECT PLACE TO BE
